BPDA conducts the first BEDC sectoral committee’s meeting

COTABATO CITY- The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) facilitated the first Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) sectoral committee’s meeting held at Diamond Hall, Em Manor Hotel and Convention Center today.

The purpose of the meeting is to orient the ministries, offices, and agencies on the composition, roles and functions of the BEDC and its sectoral committees under Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) No. 06 s. 2019, finalization of the Result Matrices (RM), and Bangsamoro Development Investment Program (BDIP) 2020-2022.

The output of the participants will form part in preparation to the budget call for calendar year 2021 expected this coming month.

The event was attended by Attorney Raissa H. Jajurie, Minister of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) and Chairperson of Social Development Committee (SDCom), and Member of the Parliament Hadja Bainon Karon, Chairperson of Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC).MP Karon on her opening statement said, “this is an indication that BARMM is now ready to hit the ground running”.

She further said “I would like to enjoin all of us to review realistically and come up with BDIP 2020-2022 that is implementable. Remember, plan formulation is plan implementation”.

BPDA Bangsamoro Director General, Engineer Mohajirin T. Ali leads the orientation of the sectoral committees.

The activity requires a break out of the sectoral committee for discussions and workshop of the finalization of the RMs and BDIP, and ended up with the presentation of the workshop output.
