COTABATO CITY โ€“ The Regional Statistics Committee of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RSCom-BARMM), co-chaired by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA-BARMM), adopted two (2) resolutions and highlighted the committeeโ€™s achievements for the calendar year 2023 during its fourth regular meeting held on Tuesday, November 28, at Paragon Hotel, this city.

Presided by Engr. Kadil A. Sulaik, Director of BPDAโ€™s Research Development and Special Projects Bureau (RDSPB), and Engr. Akan G. Tula, OIC Regional Director of PSA-BARMM, the committee approved the resolutions recommending to the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) the RSCom membership of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority โ€“ Policy Research and Legal Service (BTA-PRLS), the Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC), and The Moropreneur Inc. (TMI); and recognizing Regina S. Talib, Engineer II of the Ministry of Public Works (MPW), as the 3rd PSA Quiz Bee Regional Champion.

This yearโ€™s final meeting highlighted the recognition received by RSCom-BARMM as โ€œBreakthrough Regional Statistics Committee for 2023โ€ out of 17 regions across the country. Said committee was lauded for its remarkable achievements and progress in policymaking on regional statistical matters and its dedicated efforts in addressing and resolving statistical issues at the local level.

Meanwhile, the committee had also given recognition to four RSCom members with โ€œPerfect Attendance.โ€ The Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO), Office of the Chief Minister โ€“ Technical Management Service (OCM-TMS), Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management (MFBM), and the MFBM-Bangsamoro Treasury Office (MFBM-BTO) have received the said award for successfully completing their attendance for this yearโ€™s regular committee meetings.

Also present during the meeting were representatives from the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), Ministry of Labor Employment (MOLE), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), MPW, BARMM-READi, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Cotabato Branch.
