BPDA takes part in the Formulation of the Bangsamoro Food Security and Nutrition Roadmap

The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) takes part in the crafting of the Bangsamoro Roadmap for Food Security and Nutrition (FSN), along with the other concerned ministries, offices, and agencies of the Bangasamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

After the series of workshop conducted in developing the FSN roadmap, finally the concluding workshop was conducted, to finalize the draft plan, on June 16, 2020 to June 18, 2020, with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) as the lead ministry supported by the World Food Programme (WFP).

The three-day finalization workshop aims to complete the plan in preparation for its presentation to the Cabinet.

Giving his insight message, BPDA Director General, Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali stated that food security may take a part in the key priority areas of the Bangsamoro government along with the social welfare, education, health, and strategic infrastructure. He also emphasized the creation of Bangsamoro Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) is necessary in line to food security.

Minister Mohammad Yacob of MAFAR, who gave the closing message, highlighted Food Security roadmap will guarantee easy access of food for the Bangsamoro people. He also extended his gratification to the BPDA for the full support in realizing the program.

Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) Roadmap is a plan develop to address the existing challenges in the food insecurity and prevalent malnutrition in the Bangsamoro region.
