COTABATO CITY โ€”- The Development Administration Committee (DACom) under the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), chaired by the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG) and co-chaired by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), has successfully conducted a two-day sectoral committee refinement workshop for the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP), 2023-2028 held on July 18-19, 2022 at the Acacia Hotel, Davao City.

Said workshop paved the way for the refinement of the committeeโ€™s sectoral goals and objectives that were identified during the previous workshops on the formulation of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP), 2023-2028.

Camelia N. De Vera-Dacanay, head of the committeeโ€™s technical secretariat and chief of the Macro-Economic Planning Division, underscored the relevance of this activity in refining the committeeโ€™s sectoral goals and objectives to be included in the 2nd BDP.

Further, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) XII led by EnP Romel Patrick E. Tanghal and his team, provided technical assistance to the said committee.  He emphasized that NEDAโ€™s support for BARMM is along with their commitment to support peace and development in Mindanao.

Melanie M. Indar, Director of BPDAโ€™s Planning and Policies Bureau, explained the importance of consistency of the sectoral inputs in the ongoing formulation of the 2nd BDP.

โ€œPlease be guided by the BARMM vision & goals and the 2nd BDPโ€™s 12-Point Priority Agenda and ensure that your core objective is people-centered addressing the present challenges in the region,โ€ she stressed.

Meanwhile, DACom worked with their designated sub-sectors and converged its efforts in attaining the objectives of the workshop.  The seven sub-sectoral compositions are Bureaucracy, Development Planning, Fiscal Management, Legislation, Multi-Stakeholder Engagement, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Bangsamoro Justice System.  (BPDA-BARMM)
