As an agency under the administrative supervision of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), PNVSCA takes the lead in advocating and recognizing the contributions of volunteers to nation-building and international cooperation.

In coordination with the BPDA and Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), the PNVSCA will conduct the said forum on June 5, 2023, to promote volunteerism in various sectors of the BARMM, as well as to adopt and strengthen the practice of volunteerism as a development strategy to attain national development and international understanding.

During the meeting, both agencies had a preliminary discussion on the details of the preparation, including its target to invite at least 30 participants for the said forum.

The participants shall be composed of representatives from BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies (MOAs), state colleges and universities (SUCs), and local universities and colleges (LUCs) from Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Cotabato City, and Special Geographic Area (SGA).

Moreover, PNVSCA said that the forum will also be an avenue to further promote the annual โ€œSearch for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV),โ€ which is a strategy to engage in advocacy for the promotion of volunteerism as a tool for development.  SOV seeks to identify and recognize outstanding Filipino volunteers and volunteer organizations.
