The Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS), in partnership with the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), conducted a 2-day on-boarding and project management training for all 32 accredited Private Sector Organizations (PSOs) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) held on 26-27 of October 2022 in Davao City.

The activity aims to capacitate the accredited PSOs in the Bangsamoro Region to help them better manage their organizations with an emphasis on project development and the ability to develop a platform of convergence among PSOs.

The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), as the BEDC secretariat, gives updates on the PSO’s participation and representation in the BEDC. In his presentation, Engr. Guialalluden M. Usop acting head of Official Development Assistance Nationally Funded Programs and Projects Coordination Division (ODANFPPC) emphasized the active involvement of the accredited PSOs in the economic development of the BARMM Region. He also reiterates the important roles of the PSOs in planning, monitoring, and evaluating projects, and even participates in the procurement process to enhance further transparency.

The accredited PSOs have been scrutinized by the BEDC Secretariat, ensuring they possess the qualification the council has provided.

The activity is under the program entitled Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) with funding support from European Delegation in the Philippines and co-financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
