COTABATO CITY — The newly created Marawi Rehabilitation Program’s (BARMM-MRP) Program Steering Committee (PSC) approved on Wednesday, November 11, the Php 79 Million-worth of proposed projects by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) during its first meeting held at PSC Office, Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Compound, Matampay, Marawi City.

Three (3) proposed projects were approved during Wednesday’s meeting which includes the Profiling Survey of Displaced Persons for the Marawi Rehabilitation Program (MRP), the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan project, and the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) project which will benefit the internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in temporary shelters.

The profiling survey aims to address the data gaps and guide succeeding programs and policies for Marawi rehabilitation through a centralized, up-to-date, and comprehensive database of IDPs. Other projects shall also serve to address IDPs’ livelihood and core necessities.

The Php 79 Million budget for the approved MSSD projects is a part of the Office of the Chief Minister’s (OCM) Php 500 Million Marawi Rehabilitation Fund.

“Ang goal po ng Program Steering Committee, ang kanyang objective, ay siguraduhin na yung ating aaprubahan na mga proyekto ay responsive sa mga pangangailangan ng mga IDPs,” Member of Parliament (MP) Atty. Anna Tarhata Basman said.

Deputy Chief Minister Ali Solaiman, PSC Chair, sworn that the Bangsamoro Government will continue working until the Marawi rehabilitation is completed and its people are sent back to their homes.

“Our job as your leaders in the Bangsamoro Government continues until the rehabilitation of Marawi is done and until we see the people of Marawi are back in their homes,” DCM Solaiman said.
