COTABATO CITY — The Social Development Committee (SDCom) led here on Thursday until Friday, July 21-22, a two-day workshop to refine the social sectorโ€™s outputs that will serve as inputs for the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP), 2023-2028.

The said workshop was led by Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, committee chair and minister of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), along with the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), committee co-chair and technical secretariat.

Among the highlights of this activity was the refinement of the identified sectoral goals, objectives, and strategies during the follow-through workshop on the formulation of the 2nd BDP held last June 27-29, 2022 in Davao City.

In addition, the subsectors on health, education, and culture have conducted an in-depth workshop in preparation for SDComโ€™s refinement workshop for its sectoral outputs.

Meanwhile, Melanie M. Indar, Director for Planning and Policies Bureau of the BPDA, presented the content of the 2nd BDP, citing the planโ€™s fourteen (14) chapters and sector outlines.  Dir. Indar facilitated the plenary discussion and the committee further agreed on its sectoral chapters and titles.

Some development partners of the BARMM such as United Nations International Childrenโ€™s Fund (UNICEF), World Food Programme (WFP), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), have provided technical assistance to the committee during the refinement workshop.

In her statement, Minister Jajurie was elated for the support of the regionโ€™s development partners particularly UNICEF, and the active participation of SDCom officials and members in the formulation of the 2nd BDP.

Moreover, Social Planning Division of the BPDA continues to provide technical assistance and works with various development partners to attain successful activities related to the formulation of the 2nd BDP.  (BPDA-BARMM)
