Another year is about to end. A year when we were challenged to face all sorts of trials which tested our courage and resilience amidst hardships, our love for humanity, and our faith and trust to Almighty Allah. Despite these challenges, we are still blessed for we managed to surpass it all with the grace and blessings from Allah and the love and support from the people around us β our family, friends, and colleagues.
In line with our efforts in the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), being the Bangsamoro government’s socioeconomic development planning and policy coordination authority, we spearheaded the formulation of a mid-term development plan for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) earlier this year, dubbed as the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan, 2023-2028, that will sustain the gains and pursue the development thrusts and priorities of the autonomous regional government. This plan is truly essential as it will serve as our roadmap for the next six years towards realizing our goals and aspirations for the Bangsamoro and achieving socioeconomic development for the BARMM.
The crafting of the 2nd BDP requires hard work, dedication, perseverance, and unity. Hence, this plan is a product of collaborative efforts of different BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies, local government units, academe, civil society organizations, development partners, and other stakeholders. This endeavor further signifies that being united and working together in framing the future of the present and next generations of the Bangsamoro will result into a good plan that will bring light to our dreams and aspirations for a lasting peace and progress in the BARMM.
At this time of year, we happily share in the joy of our fellow Christian brothers and sisters as they celebrate this season of love, giving, and kindness towards one another. It is my hope that as the year 2022 draws to a close, it serves as a reminder that we must improve the relationships within our families and communities in order to shape a more cohesive and progressive society that can thrive for years to come.
To everyone, as this year ends, may we fill our hearts with love, joy, and gratefulness for all the blessings that we have received from the Almighty Allah. Letβs work hand in hand in sustaining peace and development in our region.
