COTABATO CITY โ Members of the Regional Land Use Committee โ Technical Working Group (RLUC-TWG) convened during a meeting held Thursday, Feb. 12, to set its preparations for the orientation and action planning workshop as preliminary activities in crafting the Bangsamoro Spatial Development Framework (BSDF) 2024-2050.
The said orientation and action planning workshop will be led by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) in the province of Tawi-Tawi on January 30 to February 2, 2023.
Engr. Casana B. Mandal, BPDAโs Chief for Local Planning and Coordination Division (LPCD), said that BSDF is a long-term plan for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) that will sustain and integrate spatial development in the region.
Meanwhile, Hannan GuiamiIIa Ibrahim, Development Management Officer II of the BPDA, presented the concept notes of the said activities, highlighting the spatial planning concepts, tools, and plan of activities for the formulation process of the said long-term plan for the BARMM.
The crafting of the BSDF 2024-2050 also includes the Bangsamoro Spatial Strategies which is guided by the National Spatial Strategy (NSS), specifically its three core strategies which are regional agglomeration, connectivity, and vulnerability reduction. These strategies will ensure that all constituents of the BARMM will gain access to basic services and development opportunities.
Also present during the meeting were representatives from the Ministries of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT), Works (MPW), Science and Technology (MOST), Indigenous Peopleโs Affair (MIPA), and Office of the Chief Minister – Technical Management Services (OCM-TMS).
Moreover, RLUC is one of the three special committees of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), wherein BPDA is the head of its technical secretariat. (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa with reports from Norodin Intia)
