COTABATO CITY โ€“ Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, Bangsamoro Director General of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), graced the ongoing โ€˜Bangsamoro CSO Summit 2023โ€™ today until Thursday, January 17-19, 2023 at Em Manor Convention Center in this city.

In his message, DG Ali underscored the essential role of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in promoting peace and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), emphasizing that the BPDA is one with the Bangsamoro government in committing its full support to the CSOs.

โ€œBeyond capacity development, the BARMM government and CSO partnership should include a broader range of strategies and mechanisms that will spur collective action and sustain our collaborative efforts.  These actions should also underscore the importance of continuous dialogue while encouraging meaningful engagement with CSOs and a wider stakeholder group in the development of the Bangsamoro region,โ€ he stressed.

โ€œWe must mobilize a larger, whole-of-government and whole-of-society effort to ensure long-term economic growth, enduring peace, and sustainable development in the Bangsamoro,โ€ DG Ali further said as the BARMM moves forward with programs intended to accelerate the regionโ€™s socioeconomic recovery and maintain progress toward poverty reduction and economic growth.

Meanwhile, this yearโ€™s summit bears the theme โ€œStrengthening Social Cohesion and solidarity in support to the Bangsamoro and beyond.โ€  (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa, BPDA-BARMM)
