COTABATO CITY — As part of the regionwide consultation for the formulation of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) for 2023-2028, the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) led by Director General Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, in partnership with the Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), conducted Tuesday, Sept. 20, the provincial and municipal consultations with the local government officials of Maguindanao province and its constituent municipalities.
Among the delegates are the municipal local government units of Buldon, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Mamasapano, Kabuntalan, North Kabuntalan, Datu Paglas, Matanog, Sultan Mastura, Parang, Sultan Kudarat, Talitay, Barira, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Guindulungan, Talayan, Rajah Buayan, Ampatuan, Datu Salibo, Datu Unsay, Datu Hoffer, Sultan Sa Barongis, South Upi, Shariff Aguak, Datu Piang, and Upi; Maguindanao provincial offices including Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg); and KAGAN Foundation, a civil society organization.
The purpose of the provincial and municipal consultations with the local officials of the said province is to solicit their inputs, recommendations, and provide data and information as part of the regionwide consultation.
In a statement conveyed by Maguindanao Provincial Administrator Atty. Cyrus E. Torrena, Gov. Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu expressed her support to the formulation of the 2nd BDP. She also said โNo government can proceed without a very good plan designed in mindsโ, as BDP seeks to empower the Bangsamoro through various activities, plans, and programs, same as the Governorโs MAKABAGONG Maguindanao.
During the consultation workshop, BPDA Director General Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali presented the salient features of the regionโs medium-term plan, the 2nd BDP covering the years 2023-2028, to increase the participantsโ knowledge and understanding on the said plan.
Moreover, BPDA will also conduct consultations to LGUs of Marawi City, province of Lanao del Sur, Special Geographic Areas (SGAs), Lamitan City, and provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa with reports from Norodin Intia, BPDA-BARMM)
