COTABATO CITY — In line with the development of BARMM ODA Mechanism Handbook, the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) through the Official Development Assistance/Nationally Funded Programs, and Projects Coordination Division (ODA/NFPPCD) conducted on September 9-13, 2022 an evidence-based approach workshop to analyze the data gathered from identified respondents following the stakeholderโ€™s consultation workshop last August 23-24 in Davao City.

In partnership with The Asia Foundation (TAF) under its CARE for Peace Project funded by the Australian Partnerships for Peace of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, this workshop facilitated by Maria Victoria Z. Maglana aims to assess the gathered data, generate findings, identify gaps, and other emerging points that need to be addressed in the process of developing the handbook.

Further, the data gathered were from civil society organizations, local government units, international non-government organizations, and BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies. The ODA technical working group also conducted a key informant interview participated by donor partners, BARMM officials, and Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).

In his message, BPDA Director General Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali underscored the significance of utilizing an evidence-based approach on data analysis to develop a handbook that is designed to meet the requirements of the stakeholders.

DG Ali further suggested to develop new approaches in consolidating and analyzing information to improve mechanisms for coordinating and engaging with the regionโ€™s development partners.

Moreover, the โ€˜handbookโ€™ will serve as the basis for coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all proposed foreign-assisted programs and projects implemented in the BARMM. (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa with reports from ODA/NFPPCD, BPDA-BARMM)
