COTABATO CITY — As the executive arm of the Bangsamoro Government and technical secretariat of the  Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) led by Bangsamoro Director General Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali convened today, June 6 with the officials of the United Nations (UN) Agencies operating within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to discuss the latterโ€™s existing and proposed international support to the region.

Said meeting aims to have a shared information to update and harmonize map of the ongoing and planned programs and projects in the BARMM, discuss UNโ€™s contribution to the formulation of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028, and explore avenues to strengthen the coordination in support to the transition of the BARMM.

The convening of its officials also serves as an opportunity in bringing UN Agencies which are operating or planning to engage their development programs and support to the BARMM with the end view of improving coordination and harmonization of the partnership.

โ€œHaving such in-depth conversation and going through profound commitment like this, we can leverage platforms, strengthen partnerships and improve coordination and collaboration between the government and development partners,โ€ DG Ali said.

Furthermore, BPDAโ€™s Official Development Assistance Nationally Funded Programs and Projects Coordination Division (ODANFPPCD) spearheaded the said meeting between the officials of BPDA and UN Agencies.

Also present from the BPDA were staff who are assisting the sectors of Development Administration, Economic Development, Social Development, Infrastructure Development, and Peace, Public Order, Safety, and Security.

Meanwhile, the BPDA also spearheads the facilitation and coordination of the 2nd BDP formulation process.  The said plan will serve as a framework for mobilization, alignment, and harmonization of assistance from development partners who are supporting the transition.  (BPDA-BARMM)
