COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) in coordination with the Social Security System (SSS) Cotabato Branch facilitated today, March 4, an orientation on โKaltaSSSโ Collect Program to contract of service (COS) workers of the BPDA, Special Development Fund โ Project Management Office (SDF-PMO), and Bangsamoro Population and Development Office (BPDO).
During the orientation, Masjud A. Sangki, Account Officer of SSS Cotabato Branch, discussed the โKaltaSSSโ Collect Program which offers an automatic salary deduction scheme of the monthly SSS contributions of the covered job order (JO) and COS workers who register as self-employed members through the partner government agency or local government unit.
โThis program is open to all government agencies and local government units engaging the services of JO/COS workers, provided that the workers are not over 60 years of age,โ he stressed.
Sangki added that JO/COS workers should be directly hired by the government agency, there is no employer-employee relationship between them and the government agency, and they are not coverable under GSIS Law.
Accordingly, the monthly earnings declared by the JO/COS workers in the SS Form E-1/E-4 shall be the basis of the monthly salary credit and the corresponding monthly contribution.
Yasmin L. Lidasan, Account Officer of SSS Cotabato Branch, discussed various SSS benefits that can be availed by SSS members. This includes benefits on sickness, maternity, funeral, disability, retirement, and death. The qualifying conditions and sample computation on the amount of these benefits were also explained during the orientation.
