COTABATO CITY โ€“ Select employees of the Bangsamoro government, including 32 personnel from the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and 42 personnel from various Bangsamoro ministries, offices, and agencies (BMOAs), underwent a two-day BEDC Parliamentary Procedures Training on July 22-23. The training was spearheaded by the Economic Intelligence Division of the BPDA, in partnership with the Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Atty. Gilbert V. Sembrano, team leader of the SUBATRA Justice and Society Project, emphasized their organizationโ€™s support for this training, which aligns with their program on social justice and civil society engagement.

The activity was a continuation of the training held for civil society organizations on July 16, 2024. It aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and rules of parliamentary procedure, as well as practical skills to effectively apply these rules in various settings.

The training was designed to include interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, where participants had the opportunity to practice parliamentary procedures in simulated meeting settings and receive feedback from the lecturers.

Key personnel from the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, including Jaime M. Ayub, Director III of Plenary and Committee Affairs, Atty. Badrodin S. Tamama, Division Chief of the Bills and Index Division, Jehan D. Alangca-Madid, Division Chief of the Rules, Ethics, and Accountabilities Division, and Gerardo Concepcion III, Committee Secretary of the Committee on Rules, shared their knowledge, experience, and insights in conducting parliamentary meetings.
