COTABATO CITY — The Development Administration Committee (DACom), one of the five sectoral committees of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), held Thursday, Jan. 05 its first regular meeting this year.
The meeting was presided by DACom chairperson and BARMM Interior and Local Government Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo.
Said meeting aimed to discuss the preparations of the Development Administration Sector for the upcoming celebration of the BARMM’s fourth foundation anniversary, presentation of updates on the chapter narrative of the DACom in the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028, and the proposed reorganization of the members of the Bangsamoro Sub-Committee on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (BSCW).
Atty. Sinarimbo consulted the member ministries for their possible contributions on the said event. Some ministries and offices suggested to conduct photo exhibit and offer free consultations and other services during the week-long celebration. The conduct of these initiatives will be consulted to their respective ministries for its approval.
Abdulrahman Kara, Chief Planning Officer of the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), proposed to set another meeting intended for coming up with necessary preparations on the week-long celebration of the fourth Bangsamoro foundation anniversary to discuss, among others, the booth expenses and details of services.
Moreover, the proposed reorganization of the members of the BSCW was approved by the committee. The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) replaced the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS) as the technical secretariat of the said subcommittee while the OCS remains as part of the subcommittee under the OCM.
Camelia N. De Vera-Dacanay, Chief of BPDA’s Macro-Economic Planning Division (MEPD), proposed that attached agencies should be treated as one for the purpose of membership. The said motion was also approved by the committee clustering the Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management (MFBM) and Bangsamoro Treasury Office (BTO) as one, while the OCM-TMS, Administrative Management Services (OCM-AMS), Office for Settler Communities (OSC), Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC), and OCS were clustered as one under the OCM.
Currently, the DACom has a total of fifteen member ministries, offices, and agencies. (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa, BPDA-BARMM)
