DAVAO CITY – In a significant stride to consolidate efforts for planning and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Bangsamoro planners, comprising provincial planning and development coordinators (PPDCs), city planning and development coordinators (CPDCs), and municipal planning and development coordinators (MPDCs), successfully elected the first set of officers for the League of Local Planning and Development Coordinators of the Philippines Inc. (LLPDCPI) Regional Chapter for BARMM. This event took place on Wednesday, June 26, at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, this city.

Engr. Nulfarid S. Ampatuan, EnP, the PPDC of Maguindanao del Sur, was elected as the regional president; Engr. Ben Akalal, Assistant PPDC of Sulu, was elected as the regional vice president; May N. Quesada, EnP, MPDC of Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, was elected as the regional secretary; Soraida P. Aratuc, MPDC of Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte, was elected as the regional treasurer; Mohamad M. Odin, MPDC of Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur, was elected as the regional auditor; Alikhan Abuat, EnP, CPDC of Marawi City, was elected as the regional information officer; and Engr. Abdulrauf A. Sali, EnP, MPDC of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan, was elected as the regional business manager.

With the guidance of Engr. Paulo D. Cagara, MPDC of the municipality of Upi in Maguindanao del Norte and MPDC Vice President of LLPDCPI Mindanao Chapter, this inaugural election of LLPDCPI-BARMM Chapter Officers was facilitated by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) through the Local Planning and Coordinating Division (LPCD), which served as the ad hoc committee during the event.

A total of 46 regular and associate LLPDCPI members were present during the election. Eighteen participants were physically present, including PPDCs, CPDCs, and MPDCs, while 28 attended via video teleconference.

Following its by-laws, the regular members of the LLPDCPI Provincial Chapters holding plantilla positions were nominated for various positions in the regional league.
