COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) met with the officials and representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Strengthening Institutions and Empowering Localities Against Disasters and Climate Change (SHIELD) Programme, United Nations Habitat (UN Habitat), Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS), National Resilience Council (NRC) , and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) during a meeting on Dec. 1, 2022 to discuss the proposed 2023 action plan for the formulation of the Regional Spatial Development Framework (RSDF) 2024-2050.
In her message, Melanie Indar, Director I for Planning and Policies Bureau of the BPDA, emphasized the duties and functions of the BPDA as the technical secretariat of the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC-BARMM), who shall also spearhead the formulation of the RSDF that is set to commence on the first quarter of 2023.
Hannan Ibrahim, Development Management Officer II of BPDA’s Local Planning and Coordination Division (LPCD), said that the meeting with BARMM’s development partners will also aid in the ongoing formulation of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028. She also presented the proposed 2023 action plan for the formulation of the RSDF including the series of workshops and meetings that will be conducted next year.
Meanwhile, officials and representatives of the said development partners and members of the RLUC-TWG agreed on the proposed action plan and for the upcoming first orientation and planning workshop on the formulation of RSDF which is scheduled on January 9-12, 2023 at the island province of Tawi-Tawi. Moreover, the said development partners expressed their full support to the Regional Land Use Committee – Technical Working Group (RLUC-TWG), in line with the formulation of the RSDF.
