Following the 1st Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) Meeting for C.Y. 2024, the BPDA, being the BEDC Secretariat, spearheaded an orientation for five (5) newly accredited Private Sector Organizations (PSOs) held at BPDA Conference Hall 2, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City on May 6, 2024.

Among the accredited PSOs include Kutawato Greenland Initiatives (KGI), Inc., Integrated Mindanao Association for Natives (IMAN), Inc., Pambansang Kilusan ng mga Samahan ng Magsasaka, United Youth of the Philippines – Women Inc., and BARMM Business Council.

In his message, Deputy Director General Engr. Amil J. Abubakar said that the orientation marks the beginning of a significant partnership and collaboration with PSOs, highlighting this activity as a venue for BPDA and PSOs to meet and discuss their role and functions in the BEDC.

During the orientation, Engr. Alibai B. Gayak presented all matters related to the BEDC. Subsequently, representatives from the PSOs shared their messages

Atty. Ronald H. Torress, president of BARMM Business Council, is elated for the accreditation of their organization to the BEDC, while looking forward to a strong partnership in attaining the overall goal of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028 through private sector involvement, particularly in representing MSMEs across different areas.

Meanwhile, Danilo Mocsin of KGI highlighted their organizationโ€™s focus on environment and climate change, while Abdulwahid Ebrahim shared that IMAN is the first accredited group engaging in peacebuilding efforts, focusing on social, gender, and advocacy.

Daren Diel-Espaรฑola, BPDAโ€™s chief of Economic Intelligence Division (EID), facilitated the awarding of โ€˜Certificates of Accreditationโ€™ to the PSOs, underscoring the PSOsโ€™ crucial role as champions for BARMMโ€™s development.
