𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Ta’Allah Wabarakatuhu!!!

Once again, we’ve been given another year of opportunity to celebrate the foundation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) since its establishment in 2019.  The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), in commemorating this historic milestone for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirms its commitment to assisting the regional government in its pursuit of an empowered, cohesive, and progressive Bangsamoro.

Being the executive arm of the Bangsamoro government and technical secretariat of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC), BPDA has extended efforts by assisting the five sectoral committees of the council in spearheading this week-long celebration.  Each day, one sectoral committee consisting of the member ministries and offices leads the whole-day event by conducting several activities and rendering different services for free to showcase and promote the BARMM’s culture and traditions, local products, and industries, among others.

As part of this effort, the Economic Development Committee (EDCom) chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) shall lead on January 22; Development Administration Committee (DACom) chaired by the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG) on January 23; Social Development Committee (SDCom) chaired by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) on January 24; Infrastructure Development Committee (IDCom) chaired by the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) on January 25; and Peace, Public Order, Safety and Security Committee (PPOSSCom) chaired by the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) on January 26.

Bearing the theme “Sama-samang pagtataguyod sa isang mapayapa at mas masaganang Bangsamoro,” this year’s celebration depicts unity and envisions progress in the region.  The Bangsamoro Parliament’s recent adoption of the resolution approving BARMM’s medium-term development plan for the next six years, the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028, is another breakthrough for the BARMM.  The successful formulation of this development plan is a product of a concerted effort of the BARMM ministries, offices, agencies, local government units at the provincial, city, and municipal levels, business sector, civil society organizations, academe, and other key stakeholders in the region.  Thus, this plan is a testament to the commitment of the Bangsamoro government to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of our people and make BARMM one of the most developed and progressive regions in Mindanao.  So as we celebrate, let us continue to sustain the gains that have been made towards a more prosperous and peaceful BARMM in the coming years.
