The BPDA as member of the Regional Nutrition Committee joins you in the 2021 National Nutrition Month celebration bearing the theme โ€œMalnutrisyon Patuloy Na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!โ€

We believe that our future depends greatly on our children.  Hence, the BPDA as the socio-economic development planning and policy coordinating authority of the Bangsamoro Government, ensures that all regional and local plans will mainstream and highlight the nutrition related programs and prioritize our children and youth in all the services of the Bangsamoro government.

In fact, the BARMM ministries, agencies, and offices have implemented some nutrition related programs.  Along with its other partners, MAFAR as the lead ministry, has launched the Food Security and Nutrition Roadmap in October 16, 2020.  Specifically, a part of this is the Food Security Convergence program that will address the prevalence of malnutrition and food insecurity in the Bangsamoro region.

Furthermore, the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2020-2022 was launched by the Regional Nutrition Committee as response to the nutritional problem in the region.

Beginning early 2020, the BARMM, our country-the Philippines, and the worldwide are suffering from the dismal effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  This coronavirus disease primarily affects the health of every individual and the most vulnerable are the pregnant women and new born babies. Thus, initiatives to counter these challenges are up to us, the public service sector. We owe this to our constituents and all stakeholders.

Given these circumstances, we hope that all BARMM ministries, agencies, and offices will work hand in hand and continue its efforts to address the malnutrition amidst and after this global health crisis. Let us all work together to fight malnutrition in the BARMM and achieve the Bangsamoro Governmentโ€™s overall goal of uplifting the lives of the Bangsamoro people through moral governance.

In behalf of the BPDA, I want to extend our warmest congratulations to the members of the Regional Nutrition Committee for this momentous and successful event.  Lastly, I am wishing for each and every Bangsamoro to have a healthy, peaceful and meaningful life.

Happy Nutrition Month to all!!!

Shukran and Wassalam!!!
