COTABATO CITY — The Social Development Committee (SDCom) of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) held on Wednesday, May 25 its 2nd regular meeting for calendar year 2022 at the BPDA Conference Hall, Bangsamoro Government Center, this city.

Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, Minister of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) and Chairperson of the SDCom, led the said meeting together with Engr. Amil J. Abubakar, Deputy Director General of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), who represented BPDA Director General and SDCom Co-Chairperson Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali.

The meeting highlights the committeeโ€™s approval on SDCom Resolution No. 3 which provides for the inclusion of Bangsamoro Pilgrimage Authority (BPA) as additional member to the committee, seeing its importance in promoting the Bangsamorosโ€™ culture and identities.

Dr. Kadil Sinolinding, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of the National Nutrition Council (NNC-BARMM), presented the RNC Resolution that provides for the creation of Local Nutrition Committee. 

Approved SDCOm Resolution No. 3 at the committee level will be endorsed to the BEDC for their approval, while the RNC Resolution will be presented to the BEDC in the upcoming second regular meeting.

Moreover, Dr. Sinolinding also discussed the updates on Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF), a school feeding program which provides schoolchildren with food that is safe and nutritious.

Engr. Roqaida K. Ladiasan of BPDAโ€™s Research and Development Division reported the updates on the formulation of the Bangsamoro Ecological Profile, while BPDO Officer in Charge Mary Ann Abutazil gave the latest information in crafting the Population Development (POPDEV) Action Plan.

Meanwhile, BPDA has reminded all member ministries and offices to submit their Accomplishment Report for the year 2021 based on the new template.  (BPDA-BARMM)
