COTABATO CITY — In line with the formulation of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) for 2023-2028, the Social Development Committee (SDCom) is currently finalizing the preparations for the upcoming provincial consultations in the five provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) during a two-day sectoral refinement workshop on Thursday until Friday, August 25-26, 2022 at the BPDA Conference Room 2, Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City.

Among the preparations include a plenary discussion on the sectoral framework and its alignment to priority challenges and filling the data gaps of the social sector in the 1st BDP 2020-2022 assessment report.

During the plenary, discussions revolved around the presentation and final vetting of the framework, and final edits and suggestions for the social sector, as well the preparations for the provincial consultations, a usual process of crafting a six-year plan.

Committee members will also review the drafts of โ€œChapter 6 – Mainstream Bangsamoro Identity, Cultural Diversity, Beliefs, and Heritageโ€ and โ€œChapter 9 – Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Access to Quality Services for Social Justice and Human Capital Developmentโ€.

Moreover, said committee will further improve and finalize the Results Matrices (RM) and Bangsamoro Development Investment Program (BDIP), the accompanying documents of the 2nd BDP 2023-2028. (Mary Lovella Lao-Lastimosa with reports from Social Planning Division, BPDA-BARMM)
