COTABATO CITY โ€” Hundreds of participants consist of students, teachers, women, health professionals, athletes, and IP beneficiaries joined on Wednesday, January 24, a one-day event dubbed as “Bangsamoro Social Sector Day” spearheaded by the Social Development Committee (SDCom) at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Center (SKCC) in this city.

The said event was part of the week-long celebration of the fourth Bangsamoro founding anniversary which underscored the Bangsamoro’s social sector including education, health, social services, women, youth, and culture and identity.

Furthermore, the Bangsamoro Social Sector Day highlighted the active participation of students from Cotabato City National High School (CCHS) Main Campus, CCHS Rojas, Notre Dame Village National High School (NDVHS), Maguindanao National High School, and Mindanao State University (MSU) Maguindanao during the โ€œCotabato City Inter-School Quiz Beeโ€ competition, facilitated by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH), and quiz master Mohagher Iqbal, Minister of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE).

Nasrayla O. Antas of CCHS Main Campus bagged the first place and received Php10,000.00, while Farhanna Nicole M. Kasim of CCHS Rojas and AC Shahyr A. Abdul of NDVNHS won the second place and received Php5,000.00, respectively.

A short segment dubbed as “Kwentuhan Para Sa Panibagong Bangsamoro” was also conducted by the said committee. It was a platform where the youth from different organizations had the opportunity to personally ask MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal and Commissioner Bainon Karon of the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) on matters concerning the history of the BARMM.

The said event also highlighted the distribution of subsidies for eleven (11) partner hospitals of Ayudang Medial mula sa Bangsamoro Government (AMBAG); turnover of two (2) land ambulances to Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC); turnover of Tulong Medical Assistance of the Member of Parliament (MP) Sahie Udjah to CRMC under his 2021 Transitional Development Impact Funf (TDIF) worth Php 1M; turnover of cash incentives for Barangay Health Workers (BHW) funded by the TDIF of MPs Rasul Ismael, Hatikil Hassan, Muslimin Jakilan, and Sahie Udjah; distribution of honorarium for daycare workers; distribution of free birth certificates for IP children; awarding of cheques for MSSD partner pharmacies; awarding of scholarship grants and winners on different sports competitions; and cultural presentation.

SDCom Chairperson and Social Services and Development (MSSD) Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, together with BARMM Cabinet Secretary Moh’d Asnin K. Pendatun, led the awarding and distribution of grants, equipment, medical supplies, and other support services.

Moreover, MSSD BARMM, together with Australian Aid and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), successfully launched on the same day the MSSD’s Financial Assistance System Transformation (FAST) Roadmap 2023-2028 held at Al-Nor Convention Hall in Cotabato City.
