COTABATO CITY โ€“ The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), together with the concerned BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies (MOAs), joined the multi-stakeholders meeting facilitated by Relief International on Monday, June 5, 2023.

Said meeting aimed to discuss the โ€œWomen Engaged in Responsive Solutions to Conflicts in Mindanao (WE-RESOLVE),โ€ a Relief International-led program for Bangsamoro women.

WE-RESOLVE program seeks to enhance the participation of Bangsamoro women in decision-making and practice in conflict mitigation, management, and transformation focused on 40 communities in the provinces of Lanao Del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, and Maguindanao del Norte.

Relief International and its local implementing partner, the Balay Mindanaw Foundation, Inc. (BMFI), are working with 40 women-led civil society organizations (CSOs) to model Communities of Peace (COP) in their respective barangays. Through capacity enhancements and grants to support their initiatives, these two partners envision to contribute in solidifying the gains of the peace process, promoting good governance, and stabilization in the BARMM.

This meeting also served as an avenue to re-introduce Relief International to BARMM MOAs and as a platform to explore mechanisms for collaboration and cooperation.

During the meeting, Hasna Adam, Project Development Officer V of the BPDAโ€™s Official Development Assistance/Nationally Funded Programs and Projects Coordinating Division (ODA/NFPPCD), presented the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028 that underscores the development thrusts, priorities, and strategic directions of the Bangsamoro government for the next six years.

Adam also discussed the Bangsamoro International Development Assistance Committee (BIDAC) which serves as a coordination mechanism involving the Bangsamoro government and international development partners towards harmonizing the implementation of foreign-assisted programs and projects in the BARMM.

Also in attendance were representatives from the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC), the Ministries of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), Interior and Local Government (MILG), Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT), and Social Services and Development (MSSD).
