The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) is currently hosting a โ€˜Special Coordination Meetingโ€™ with some BARMM development partners today, April 25, 2022 held at Discovery Suites Manila, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Present during the said meeting were key persons from the European Union (EU), World Bank, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Japan International Coordination Agency (JICA), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Royal Norwegian Embassy, and British Embassy. The representative from the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office was also present as an observer.

Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, Director General of the BPDA, highlights the presentation on the assessment of the 1st Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2020-2022 and BARMM 12-Point Priority Agenda.

Meanwhile, the said development partners have also presented their current and planned programs and projects for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

According to Ali, this initiative is an important step towards ensuring that programs, projects, activities and services by the development partners do not overlap and are well-coordinated.  Also, it aims at aligning their programs and projects with the enhanced BARMM 12-Point Priority Agenda.

Moreover, a series of similar initiatives will be conducted with BARMMโ€™s development partners for Official Development Assistance (ODA). Expected participants will come from the international, national and local non-government offices operating within BARMM, and those with active partnership for the regionโ€™s overall progress.  (BPDA-BARMM)
