The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) facilitates the BEDC sectoral committees’ formulation of the Bangsamoro Development Investment Program (BDIP) and Results Matrices (RM) in the ongoing 5-day workshop from August 15-19, 2022 at Park Inn Hotel in Davao City, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and The Asia Foundation (TAF).

This workshop aims to enhance knowledge and skills on investment programming and Results-Based Management (RBM), identify the priority programs and projects that shall be pursued by the BARMM to ensure attainment of the desired outcomes and goals of the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP), and formulate the RM that contains the indicator statements and targets to be achieved in the next six years, 2023-2028.

The BDIP will help translate the 2nd BDP priorities into concrete programs and projects that are hoped to be implemented in the next six years, while the RM contains lists of indicators and targets to verify the achievement and the delivery of goods and services to the constituents of the BARMM.

In a statement conveyed by Director Melanie M. Indar Indar, BPDA Director General Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali said that through this workshop, the proper process in the formulation of an investment program will be introduced as well as improving the result matrices, saying โ€œThere is no one giant step does it, itโ€™s a lot of little stepsโ€.

Furthermore, TAF, JICA, and United Nations (UN) vowed to their commitment to continue supporting the formulation of the 2nd BDP.

โ€œNareview na natin ang 1st BDP. Hopefully, we can get to the mid of the 2nd BDP including the BDIP,โ€ said Crisanto Cayon, Chief of Party of the TAF forward for Bangsamoro.

Also in attendance were Stean Tshiband, UN Area Coordinator; Yukiko Sano, Project Formulation Advisor of JICA; two (2) Private Sector Representatives (PSRs); BPDA technical staff; and participants from different BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies.
